S&W Monster Book critters

Carrion Fly (p.12)
I was leafing through my copy of the Swords & Wizardry Monster Book this evening, and scribbled pictures of a couple of the critters therein: the Carrion Fly and the Clawed Fiend. Et voila!

I don't know how closely my imagination matches those of the people who originally came up with the monsters in question, but there you are anyway.

  2. Hey great pics! I set up a new Swords & Wizardry SRD website (an online rules reference) built using the rules from the Complete book. The site is at http://www.d20swsrd.com (or also via http://www.swordsNwizardry.com) and was wondering if I could possibly post these pics (and any others you might have) for their associated monsters on the site?

    1. I've drawn quite a few critter pics over the years, but not specifically for Monster Book monsters -- they're generally just idle doodles that develop. I've got a bunch of stuff up on my website at http://mojobob.com/gallery/gallery.html and you're welcome to take a look through that lot and see if there's anything that takes your fancy. It's not very well organised, alas :)

  4. I scoured back through every page on this site (your blogger) and found quite a few that match the "feel" I am looking for on the Swords & Wizardry SRD quite well. So long as you're cool with it I'll sprinkle your awesome art throughout (and linkify each to wherever you like.) Thanks for the awesome art man! (oh and I circled you back on G+)

  5. Sure, no problem. And thanks for asking; I generally have no problem with people re-using stuff I've put out on the web, but I do like to be asked first :)
